About Buddy's Pizza
The Original Detroit-Style Pizza since 1946!
Buddy's Pizza is a pizza restaurant in Detroit, Michigan. It is listed at Madison Building, 1565 Broadway St, Detroit, MI 48226, which places it among the local businesses of Detroit that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.
In Detroit, the busiest hours are Friday and Saturday evenings and any night with a big game, when quoted delivery times can stretch past an hour; ordering before 5 p.m. or picking up yourself avoids the wait. Delivery radiuses are small, often two to five miles, and a minimum order plus a delivery fee is normal, with a tip of a few dollars for the driver on top. Lunch specials such as two slices and a drink, or a personal pie, are the cheapest way to eat at most shops across Michigan on weekdays. Toppings are priced per item and half-and-half pies are usually free to request. Gluten-free crusts and vegan cheese are increasingly common but often cost a few dollars extra, and cross-contact in a shared oven is standard unless the shop says otherwise.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 11 amโ10 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Buddy's Pizza at (313) 765-1500; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is buddyspizza.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
Customers rate it 4.4 out of 5 on Google across 2,808 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded pizza restaurants in Detroit.
Detroit is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Detroit follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I want to start this review by saying that we love to eat out a lot and always treat our servers with the utmost respect and always give between 20% to 22% for tips if the service is great. We just had a Mid-West trip to Chicago, Milwaukee, Detroit and Cleveland and couldn't help notice that Service is not as good as in the West Coast. With the exception of Chicago, the service I. The other cities was ok to very bad. The Food at Buddy's Pizza was "Amazing" and very Delicious but the service by our waitress was very bad. First, it took her at least 20 minutes to offer us something to drink and then about another 12 to 15 minutes to take our order. She brought us some delicious breads with butter and small plates for them which was great, but when she brought us our Pizza, she didn't bring a clean set of plates for the Pizza (Table in front of us did get them) and no fork or knife to enjoy the Pizza. We ordered water and not once did she ask if we needed a refill but one of the other servers noticed it and offered us to refill our water and mentioned that our waitress was not feeling good. We obviously didnt tip her and I hate it that we didn't but thats how bad the service was and

Close to Comerica Park and public transportation. We are at Buddyโs twice in our four days in Detroit. Our first experience was top notch and the potato wedges and pizza were amazing. Our second visit was a let down. It took forever to get seated in the middle of the day as staff were talking to each other, at the hostess station, instead of getting us seated. Our male waiter was not attentive at all. He didnโt remember what type of pizza we ordered so he had to come back twice to clarify. We ordered potato wedges, again, to be served before our pizzaโhe even asked us if that is how we wanted it-yet they came within one minute of each other. Our second pizza didnโt taste the same as our first. I had to ask for ketchup. I had to ask for a refill of my Pepsi. There was a female waitress, also in our section, who was kind enough to check that we were in fact being helped. Oh well, We enjoyed the experience nonetheless.

The OG Detriot pizza place and this is the location closest to Comerica Park - expect long lines on game day. The joint is hopping though and good atmosphere all around for home and visiting fans. Service can be slow though when busy, even applies took a while to come out, ours even came out after the pizza came along.

This is a great place to eat, especially if youโre looking for a classic sports bar atmosphere. The restaurant looks fantastic both inside and out, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment. The ambiance is excellent, making it a nice spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The prices are very reasonable, and the food is absolutely delicious. Everything we ordered was fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor. The only downside was the staff. Unfortunately, they came across as unfriendly, which didnโt match the otherwise great experience or the quality of the restaurant. With friendlier service, this place would easily deserve five stars.

Alright yโall, here we go with another episode of Just How Food Goes ๐โจ While I was out in Detroit, we decided to stop by Buddyโs Pizza, and let me tell yโallโฆ this outing was about way more than just the food ๐๐ค The laughs were nonstop from the moment we sat down. Between the conversations, the jokes, and me minding my business recording on my phone, somebody almost took me out! ๐ญ One minute Iโm filming and the next minute Iโm over here yelling, โShe tried to kill me!โ Yโall know how those moments go when youโre with good people and everybody is having a great time. Now letโs talk about the pizza. Detroit is known for its pizza, so of course I had to see what the hype was about. The food was fresh, the atmosphere was welcoming, and honestly the entire experience just felt like one of those memories youโll be laughing about long after itโs over. One thing I love about traveling is getting to experience places through the people youโre with. Sure, the food matters, but sometimes itโs the conversations around the table, the unexpected jokes, and the moments you never planned that make the experience unforgettable. Detroit has been showing me a good time, and this stop at Buddyโs
